Magnetic field therapy is a well-known method of supporting the body’s own healing mechanisms and self-healing powers. The effectiveness of a magnetic field depends on the frequency and strength of the magnetic waves. Using modern techniques and equipment, specific frequencies and energies considered beneficial can be applied to treat certain conditions.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields Therapy (PEMF) is a natural healing method
The painful effects of stress and tension can be relieved and mitigated through increased oxygen intake and the reduction of metabolic waste. Normal body functions are activated and complaints can be treated at their source.
The main undesired side effect is an initial reaction. It involves short-term pain exacerbation and usually occurs in patients with chronic pain. About 15–20% of patients are affected and it can largely be avoided by dosage adjustment and adequate hydration. Magnetic field therapy must not be applied in the presence of electrical implants (e.g. a pacemaker). Relative contraindications are epilepsy, pregnancy, untreated hyperthyroidism and fever.
PEMF can help with a large number of ailments and complaints. A minimum of 10–12 treatments, approximately 2–3 times per week, should be carried out.
