Ambulatory Operations

Arthroscopy

The arthroscopy facilitates minimally invasive operations on a number of joints. It requires an incision of about 0.2 inches through which a camera and the necessary instruments are inserted into the joint. Irrigation fluid is pumped into the joint to expand the space between the joint surfaces and ensure a clear view.

Meniscus tears, for example, are sutured if possible and medically appropriate, or they are partially or completely removed.
